Lotus Temple India Postcard

The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a prominent Baháʼí House of Worship known for its striking lotus flower-inspired architecture, designed by architect Fariborz Sahba and completed in 1986. The temple welcomes people of all faiths, providing a serene space for meditation and prayer in accordance with Baháʼí teachings on the oneness of God, religion, and humanity. The structure is composed of 27 free-standing marble-clad 'petals' arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides, surrounding a central prayer hall. The interior features a massive, elegant dome that filters light beautifully, creating a tranquil and contemplative atmosphere enhanced by the stark simplicity of the white marble and flowing structural lines.
