Little Pigeon River Poster (historical)
This restored mid-1950s era photograph features the Little Pigeon River near Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This photo was taken while the area was undergoing electrification. Look closely at the large power poles left of the river, they're still mostly unwired. Love the glass insulators. The red sign in the left background advertises that the Rocky Water Court has Steam Heat! Wonderful addition to a collection of mid-century images of The Great Smoky Mountains or Appalachia in general.
