In her "Little House on the Prairie" books, Laura Ingalls Wilder writes vividly of American winters of the 1800s. Her "Little House in the Big Woods" contains this charming memory: "The time for fire-light and music had come again." Winters were hard, and her books describe that. But this sentence is full of peace. This card would be lovely for Christmas or even New Year's. The house and the snow are all hand drawn -- just the way someone would have hand drawn the winter scene over 100 years ago.
