Little Alfred - Baby Orangutan Binder

This is baby Alfred, one of over 350 orphaned orangutans being taken care of at the O.F.I. orangutan Care Centre on the island of Borneo. Orangutan Foundation International's surrogate human mothers take care of all the infants' needs, and as the babies grow, they learn skills to survive during jungle school each day. After several years of care, the orangutans are released back into the wild, into protected areas of the rain forest. The artist and her husband are annual sponsors of the "Save the Orangutans" fun run (in Southern California) and volunteer at this Care Centre. All of the artist's profits are donated to the rescue and rehabilitation of these orphans.
