At the mouth of the Mersey River, the Mersey Bluff Lighthouse is a red and white vertical striped lighthouse established in 1889 and standing at 13 metres high. It is unusual for an Australian lighthouse to have vertical stripes in it's day mark.
Devonport is a city in the northwestern part of Tasmania, Australia, situated at the mouth of the Mersey River. Along with the slightly smaller city of Burnie, Devonport is the major regional centre of the northwestern part of the state.
