The Mona Lisa (La Gioconda or La Joconde) is a half-length portrait of a woman by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been acclaimed as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world." It is on permanent display at the Musée du Louvre in Paris since 1797. The painting, thought to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, is in oil on a white Lombardy poplar panel, and is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506.

I bought this for myself, but it would be a great gift for anyone, particularly an art lover. It's "picture perfect"! The image -- colors and print are perfect, as is the positioning on the mug. These designs are better on the small (11 ounce) size versus one size up. On the larger size the image might not spread top to bottom. Another tip: particularly if you are a tea drinker, select a darker color for the inside so it won't show stains, even though the other option -- colored handle and rim -- give it a nice, unique look. The print is perfect. The image is, in reality, as pictured -- colors, sharpness and positioning on the mug. I've replaced nearly all my mugs with Zazzle mugs.
