A bright & sunny morning on the trail at Lava Butte located near Bend, Oregon, part of the Newberry Volcano System. On the Trail of Molten Rock you walk through the lava flow from about 7,000 years ago, and can see the Cascade Peaks such as Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, & the Three Sisters. Bold & colorful wildflowers grow between the lava rocks. Photo taken summer 2018.
