This design features a painting of Lake Garda (in Italian, "Lago di Garda" or "Lago Benaco") by Austrian artist Koloman Moser (1868–1918). Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. The region around the lake is a popular holiday location in northern Italy, about halfway between Brescia and Verona, and between Venice and Milan on the edge of the Dolomites. Koloman Moser's painting was completed circa 1912.
