Lake Bled Slovenia Postcard
Lake Bled is a glacial lake in the Julian Alps of northwestern Slovenia, famous for its emerald-green waters and the small island at its centre. In autumn, the woods surrounding the lake turn copper and gold, contrasting sharply with the church on the island and the medieval castle perched on the cliff.
Traditional wooden 'pletna' boats glide across the calm surface, leaving soft ripples that catch the low autumn sun. The atmosphere is peaceful and romantic, especially when the morning fog begins to lift from the water's surface.
