Koryo Museum North Korea Postcard

The Koryo Museum is housed within the historic Sungkyunkwan Academy, a premier educational institution of the Koryo Dynasty founded in 992 AD. Located in Kaesong, the museum complex preserves the elegant, low-slung traditional Korean architecture of the era, characterized by classic tiled roofs, wooden pavilions, and tranquil courtyard gardens. The ancient structures are framed by centuries-old gingko and zelkova trees, which paint the grounds with brilliant colours across the changing seasons.
