Koh Lanta is an island district in Krabi Province, Thailand. Known for its coral-fringed beaches, mangroves, limestone karst formations, and rainforests, the islands offer a more laid-back vibe compared to nearby Phuket. The main island, Koh Lanta Yai, is home to a unique culture influenced by Chao Leh, or sea gypsies, as well as Muslim and Thai-Chinese communities. Visitors to Koh Lanta can enjoy snorkelling, diving at nearby world-class sites, exploring the Mu Ko Lanta National Park with its lighthouse, or simply relaxing on its diverse range of beaches.
