This beautiful and vibrant bloom is known by many names: Gaillardia, Firewheel, Indian Blanket, Blanket Flower and Sundance. Used by modern-day naturalists to make all-natural dyes, it's more common names (Blanket Flower, Indian Blanket) are said to be a nod to the beautiful blankets crafted by Native Americans. Also symbolic of the region's rich Native American heritage, gaillardia was established as the official Oklahoma State Wildflower in 1986. This beautiful little bloom is also representative of love and care. This fabulous kitchen towel is shown in the "folded in half" orientation because I am always hanging my dish towels over the oven handle.

I was actually surprised by the quality. The material feels like it can handle the wash and the print seems to be set deep in the fibers. BUT I have not washed it yet. The printing was accurate and looks like it can handle washing.
