Kids Vintage WPA Brookfield Zoo Panda T shirt

This gorgeous vintage t shirt design showing a panda bear hugging a tree at Brookfield Zoo in the Chigaco suburb of Brookfield, Illinois, was originally created in 1938 for the Federal Art Project by artist Frank W. Long, four years after the Zoo first opened. The zoo was the first in America to exhibit giant panda bears. The bear in our shirt is holding on to the tree with green leaves for dear life, and no wonder as the panda bear's habitat continues to be destroyed by man.
