Katherine Stinson poster
Katherine Stinson (February 14, 1891 – July 8, 1977) was a pioneering American aviator. She set flying records for aerobatic manoeuvres, distance, and endurance. Stinson taught at her family's aviation school. She was the sister of Edward “Eddie” Stinson, founder of the Stinson Aircraft Company.
This photograph, taken in 1917, shows her preparing for a flight from Buffalo, NY to Washington, D.C., in connection with the American Red Cross week.
