THE DUTCH HAVEZATE (Manor House) KASTEEL (Dutch Castle) HUIS (House) WESTERVELT / WESTERVELD WESTERVELDT / WESTERVELDE of the Drosten (Sheriffs) of Salland in Overijssel, Netherlands, by Zwolle. Drawn by Abraham de Haen (II) in 1729. Computer Colorized by Mark Edward Westerfield in 2023. Sold for demolition in 1816. Part of it existed for over 300 years, since before circa 1515. Expanded circa 1603 - 1605 by Lord of Westervelt / Westerveld Lord Drost of Salland Gerard (Geert) van Warmelo (1635 - 1610) appointed by Prince of Orange William the Silent (1533 - 1584). www.zazzle.com/markewesterfield 2026 Lord of Westervelt / Westerveld, Drost of Salland (appointed by Prince of Orange William the Silent), Gerard (Geert) van Warmelo successfully defeated the Spanish force of Ambrogio Spinola on August 2, 1605, at the Berkumerbridge (Berkumerbrug) north of Zwolle, saving Zwolle from invasion, the turning point in the 80 years war as the Dutch Republic would free itself from Spanish rule.
