The Japanese writing in the background is the word "karakasa-obake (唐傘お化け)," which means "umbrella ghost." The English text reads "Karakasa-obake: The Umbrella Ghost," but you can change it to say whatever you wish it to! The Karakasa-obake (唐傘お化け), or Kasa-obake ("umbrella ghost"), is a type of tsukumo-gami (付喪神, "artifact spirit") from Japanese folklore.     Easy to use interface for creating your own design on the mousepad. The quality is great, just wish it was a little bigger. I ordered other mouse pads on this site before this one but the image on them didn't match up to what I customized it to. Need to make sure that your customed image is within the green lines. However, they fixed my problem by giving me another chance at creating another mousepad for free. Great customer service! The colors are on point and it feels like a durable mousepad. Just make sure your custom image fits within the green lines so it doesn't get cut out around the edges.
