Kapok Tree postcard
With its roots spreading out like a giant octopus, the massive kapok tree dominates the lawn of the Royal Poinciana Chapel at 60 Cocoanut Row. Follow the Lake Trail to the south side of the Flagler Museum and you will see the tree on the far side of the Chapel’s lawn. The Kapok was planted by the Garden Supervisor at Flagler's Royal Poinciana Hotel in 1892. Much has changed since but the tree still grows.
