Kahakuloa Hawaiian Congregational Church Hawaii Postcard

This postcard features the Kahakuloa Hawaiian Congregational Church in Maui, Hawaii. The Kahakuloa Hawaiian Congregational Protestant Church is a member church of the United Church of Christ and a member of the Hawaii Conference United Church of Christ, conference church officials said. The church used to hold about 110 people but as people moved away, the numbers dwindled and church services are only held once a month for the dozen or so people who attend. The First Hawaiian bank was undergoing renovations and so they donated the roof tiles to the church. Some say that they were too heavy for the church and so the church collapsed recently. Efforts are underway to restore it according to The Maui News (April 14, 2019) newspaper. This photograph was taken in November, 2013, before the church collapsed.
