Juvenile Brown Pelican Tote Bag

The bird in the original photograph by MaeFlowers on this Tote Bag is a juvenile brown pelican, looking at us from his perch. These young birds are shades of brown and chestnut, with white bellies which turn dark when the pelicans reach adulthood. The yellow green branches of pine trees are in soft focus in the background of the photo, with bits of blue sky near the top. The photo was taken in December, 2010, on Florida's Gulf Coast, months after the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that same year. And the pelican's look seems to say "We will survive.". The optional text at the top says WE WILL SURVIVE, and at the bottom says Juvenile Brown Pelican, Florida's Gulf Coast, December 2010.
