Poppies is a beautiful Edwardian Era flower painting by American portrait painter, John Singer Sargent, in 1886 showing red poppy flowers against a dark sky painted in an impressionism style with large brush strokes. He was an exceptional realism portrait painter, but his work also includes landscape paintings showing he was interested in the Impressionism painting style of the time painting many of these landscapes outdoors.
