John Bauer Flora 1915 Flowers and hope CC1151 Tile

Ceramic tile inspired by a beautiful decorative painting by Swedish painter and illustrator John Bauer (1882–1918). The picture shows a blonde young woman with very long braids. She's surrounded with ornamental flowers and leaves, fruit and birds. She's also holding a bunch of flowers in her arms, loosely, and some of them are already falling to the ground - or perhaps she's planting them? Surrounded with flowers and other living thing, the young woman seems immersed in a state of happiness. The woman looks a little like some of Bauer's princesses, but her name is, of course, Flora, as in the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and renewal. The name of the painting is also Flora, and it is dated 1915. Custom words on the front side: Where flowers bloom, there is hope.
