This is a stunning depiction of St. Joan of Arc holding a sword and dressed in armour. Known as Jeanne d'Arc in her native France, she was born ca 1412 in the village of Domrémy. At age 12 Joan first began hearing the voices of saints telling her to drive the English out. Joan of Arc was canonized on 16 May 1920 and her feast day is 30 May.
