Jishu Jinja Shrine of Kyoto Postcard
Jishu-jinja Shrine is located at the north of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The buildings of the shrine were reconstructed in 1633 by the third Tokugawa Shogun, Iemitsu. Jishu-jinja Shrine is especially popular among young women as a shrine to the god of marriage. It is said that if you are able to walk about 18 metres between a pair of stones in front of the Honden main hall and touch one stone to another with closing your eyes, your wish for love will come true.
