Hendrix. The ultimate rock and roll star. At least in my book. Visionary genius coupled to a humble humanity. Well, that's how he appears to have been. Can't say I ever sat around and shared a beer with him. This is my tribute to Jimi. Why Monterey? The work reminded me in many ways of the Hussar jacket that he wore and made famous. Cool, as in really cool and Jimi had the sense of style to go with that visionary guitar genius. And The Monterey Pop Festival of 1976 was his coming out party here in the States.
