About This Design
Jewish Quarter in Amsterdam (Vintage City Scene) Napkin
This design features a painting by the Dutch cityscape painter Cornelis Springer (1817–1891). It shows the traditional Jewish quarter in Amsterdam. It was historically known as Jodenbuurt. The neighbourhood contains many historically important buildings that are currently preserved and managed by The Jewish Cultural Quarter, an organization that is dedicated to the conservation of Jewish culture within Amsterdam. In the painting, there are Jewish people in the street talking to each other in winter; they are surrounded by tall red-brick buildings.
