Jet d'Eau Switzerland Postcard

The Jet d'Eau is the iconic symbol of Geneva, a magnificent plume of water that soars 140 metres into the sky from the surface of Lake Geneva. Originally created in 1886 as a safety valve for a hydraulic power network, it has since evolved into one of the world's most famous landmarks. The fountain pumps 500 litres of water per second at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour, creating a brilliant white column that is visible from miles away.
