Don't buy a boring plain binder but rather this beautiful Japanese design ring binder in cool greys. Japanese geometric line pattern in light and dark grey which is used on traditional yukatas or jinbeis. It looks like a chain of square links. A bright and light pattern for warm summers in Kyoto. This kind of pattern is often used on fabric for yukata or a jinbei, traditional Japanese clothes for in the hot summer months. Even today you still see young men and women wearing these garments in the hot Japanese months. When you think of this type of fabric, resist dyeing comes to mind. In Japan vintage techniques are roketsuzome with wax, katazome, yuzen and tsutsgaki with rice paste. A favourite method of applying paste is by means of a stencil.

I bought this gift for my girlfriend. She loves to cook and has been saving her favorite family recipes to create binders for both of her children of their traditional family dishes.
