Japanese Bakeneko Cat Yokai

This cat dances merrily in the moonlight! A long-lived cat may transition into the yokai Bakeneko (化け猫)! Bakeneko are known to stand up on their hind legs and dance, and are especially fond of licking lamp oil. Aside from cats being generally enigmatic and stealthy, it has been proposed that cats in old Japan were attracted to fish oil used in lanterns, so you can imagine a cat standing up to lick that oil, illuminated by the lantern's ghostly glow and inspiring the form of this yokai.
