Intrauterine Growth Restriction, a condition which affects the growth of babies while in the womb. IUGR babies weigh less than 90% of other developing babies at the same gestational age and a diagnosis is often made by measuring a pregnant mother’s fundus or through an ultrasound. Although there are many possible causes, often there is no known cause. IUGR is diagnosed in tens of thousands of babies around the globe.
