Ishimochinuki Mokuri Stationery
[Kokumochi Nukimoko] Ishimochi Jinuki is a technique for expressing Kamon in the same color as the fabric. By the way, ishimochi is originally a mochi (rice cake), and it refers to a design in which round circles are painted in white or black. White is called 'shiromochi' and black is called 'kuromochi.' White rice cakes were placed on 'shiromochi' and black rice cakes were placed on 'ishimochi' (meaning that they had a kokudaka (a unit of volume that was determined by the Edo period), which means that they would be increased), which were considered auspicious for samurai families. However, the distinction was gradually lost on the crest, and the kanji for 'ishimochi' represented both.
