An unusual medieval illuminated manuscript style ornament featuring a traditional Scottish Celtic knot pattern in shades of dark red and green. Verses from Isaiah chapters 7 and 9 intertwined in the knot. Words at the sides read: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given” from Isaiah 9:6. This script is Uncial, which was used starting the 8th century for Christian Bible texts in the British Isles.
