Isaalux Bridge in the City of Unalaska, AK Postcard
The Isaalux Bridge was named in the Unangan language and it means: "Safe Crossing". The wooden bridge provides pedestrians with a place to cross the Illiuliuk River, connecting downtown Unalaska with the main road near the post office. In late summer and early fall people often stand on the bridge to watch the salmon returning to spawn in the Illiuliuk River. In winter, Christmas lights form a tree with a star which lies suspended over the river.
