Indian Wooden Door is a photograph of an old door taken in the ancient city of Varanasi in India. I love walking through the streets and discovering the beauty of lost time in narrow alleys. India’s cities are awash with architectural achievements, one of them are the beautiful ancient wooden doors. Without question, antique Indian doors are amongst the most beautiful in the world. Every door is different and tells its own story. Significantly, many cultural and religious ideals have influenced door design throughout Indian history. Hinduism, Mughal, and, to a degree western culture, have all added to designs and trends in door construction. I just admire their beauty and there is only one question remaining. What might these doors hide?
