In solidarity with our Persecuted Brethren in Iraq and Syria, (and elsewhere throughout the world) the persecution of Christians. Nun (ن), the 14th letter of the Arabic alphabet (the equivalent of letter N in our Roman alphabet), is the first letter of the word Nasara (نصارى : Nazarenes). This letter is being used by Muslims as a way to mark the houses and businesses of our fellows Christians, marking them for death and seizure of property. Let us use this same symbol to show our solidarity with our persecuted brethren. "St.John’s medical college hospital is an institution started and managed by the Catholic Bishops conference of India (CBCI). This hospital is a well established huge hospital.. It is one of the top medical institutions in the whole of India. It educates, and trains lots of doctors, nurses and para medical personals apart from the medical treatments to patients who will number more than 1000 daily. Among them some are rich, middle class and poor people. The hospital building had five floors where the patients are treated as outpatients and some of them are admitted as inpatients.. There are Ac rooms, private semi luxury rooms, private single and double ordinary rooms and common rooms(like dormitory) most of the poor and destitute are admitted in the dormitories which charge each patient around Rs 450 which is equal to $8 daily and of course consultation and medical treatment charges are extra. There is then a hall meant for dialysis. Daily this is full with patients for 24 hours. Mostly poor people come for this treatment; some of these patients come twice, some trice a week. For each dialysis treatment it is now charged around Rs 1200 which is equal to 25 $. This is where poor people need help. The hospital is developing a fund to help out the poor people. Then there are poor patients who sometimes need blood which they have to buy from outside after the hospital quota is given .Poor people cannot afford buying blood. Then to pay the medical bills can be too much for the poor .These poor people ask and beg for help. Very often seeing me as a priest people approach begging for help."
