In Days to Come is a circa 1897 pen and ink and watercolour drawing by an unknown British artist done in the style of Charles Dana Gibson and other popular Edwardian artists. The original which resides in the permanent collection of www.soldiersofthequeen.com was probably produced for use as a postcard. Possibly done as a parody of the suffragette movement the drawing inadvertently prophesied what would in fact become a reality – that of women serving in the military.
