"Il Duomo, Milano" postcard
Il Duomo, or Cathedral, is a fantastic church in the heart of Milan, Italy. Built from 1386 to 1813, this is one of the largest Gothic churches in the world, though Renaissance and Neoclassical styles are also present. Its façade is decorated by 3400 human stone figures on all walls, a work on marble by the hands of artists from all over Europe. On its highest pinnacle, the guilded statue Madonnina shines above the cathedral.
