Israel Special Forces - IDF - The Elite Units of the Israeli Military The Israel Defence Forces, or IDF, are the military forces of the State of Israel. These brigades are trained to operate in all terrains and climates, and to perform airborne assaults, raids, ambushes, and patrols. They have fought in every major war and conflict involving Israel, such as the Suez Crisis, the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Lebanon War.
