Icy Horsetail Falls Postcard
Starkly different from the other Horsetail Falls postcard available, all of the lush and vibrant greens have been replaced by stripped down, white ice tinged with blue where it has taken over most of the pool at the base of the waterfall. Icicles have formed where the frigid winds of the Columbia Gorge whipped through, giving a unique and sometimes lacy look to the surrounding rocks. Only the power of the waterfall, still strong even in the wintery blast, has kept a small pool of water free from the confines of ice. Found along the Columbia River Historic Hwy, Horsetail Falls is between Portland and Hood River in Oregon.
