Ichiyanagi Kuginuki Travel Mug
The Kuginuki (nail puller) crest / Kuginuki is a carpenter's tool, and the word is associated with "Kujonuki" (nine castles), which means to pass through or possess nine castles, and was favored by samurai families due to its martial significance. The Ichiyanagi family of the Ono Domain in Harima Province (from "The Encyclopedia of Family Crests" by Takazawa et al.). Many crest books, including "Mon Den," refer to it as "Ichiyanagi Kuginuki," but "Edo Monshō Shū" refers to it as "Ichiyanagi Square One Character Nail Puller," and "Mon no Izumi" refers to it as "Ichiyanagi Kugi-me."

This mug was exactly as described. I have purchased the stainless steel one before and the white is a nice change (stainless steel inside). I found the lavender purple a little light for my liking but that's my fault. Next time I'll choose a more grapey purple.
