The inspiration for this painting came one afternoon when I caught my kitten Emma grooming her sister Elsa. Emma was on day 101 of her FIP treatment, and still had to wear a sweater to cover her injection sores. Right then, her sister Elsa also came down with FIP. I took a photo of them a few days after Elsa began this miracle treatment but still wasn't feeling all that great. It would be another two weeks before Elsa would really start getting back to herself. In the meantime, Emma knew her sister needed some love. She began cleaning Elsa's head who normally would never have allowed that. But you could see the look of appreciation. I was able to snap a photo of that tender moment and the inspiration for the painting began.
