The Lone Star State has an amazing variety of hummingbirds. Throughout the state, at different times of the year the hummingbird lover can find Ruby-throated, Black-chinned, Blue-throated, Broad-tailed, Buff-bellied, Broad-billed, and White-eared varieties of the bird. One can encounter such species as the Calliope, the Lucifer, Costa's, Rivoli's, Rufous, Anna's, Allen's, the rare Berylline hummingbird, the Mexican Violetear and the Violetcrowned hummingbird, as well as the Amethyst-throated and the Green-breasted Mango hummingbird. All these species are depicted on this mug. The images are taken from original watercolors by Christiane Dobbins.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
