The full title of this late 19th Century work is Houses in the Moonlight (Maisons au clair de lune). It is a stunning, stunning piece of work. The sweeping clouds with the obscure houses below provide for a very interesting creation. Here, the details take a back seat to the feelings evoked by the work. You can't see a lot, but it is apparent that it is nighttime...perhaps, very late. Not a soul I see, but the moon still shines, lighting the way should someone emerge from the darkness.
