Horseshoe crabs are arthropods that live primarily in and around shallow ocean waters on soft sandy or muddy bottoms. Horseshoe crabs are considered living fossils. Unlike mammals, horseshoe crabs do not have hemoglobin in their blood, but instead use hemocyanin to carry oxygen. Because of the copper present in hemocyanin, their blood is blue. Custom sizing to an exact square allowed me to frame the photo perfectly for the ceramic coaster. There were all kinds of editing options for the images. Very fun to do and they look awesome. I made them as a gift but got a few doubly made for me! Really well done. I wanted the images dark with low contrast and saturated colours and they came out exactly as I hoped!
