Hopewell Rocks Canada Postcard

The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpot Rocks, are a collection of striking rock formations carved by the extreme tidal forces of the Bay of Fundy. Located on the coast of New Brunswick near Moncton, these unique sandstone pillars are topped with trees and vegetation, resembling massive natural flowerpots. The area experiences some of the highest tides in the world, dramatically changing the landscape twice a day as water levels rise and fall by up to 14 metres. Visitors can walk along the ocean floor at low tide to look up at the towering formations and explore the surrounding sea caves and mudflats. A few hours later, high tide floods the area, turning the massive rock pillars into tiny islands and transforming the beach into a popular destination for kayakers. This dynamic environment offers a profound look at the power of coastal erosion and the dramatic rhythm of nature.
