It is the epitome of Southern charm and was once a Private Club and winter retreat, accessible only by America's rich and famous - families that represented one sixth of the world's wealth! Back in the day, one popular magazine called it, “the richest, the most exclusive, the most inaccessible club in the world!” The Jekyll Island Club was the site of the first transcontinental phone call and the birth-place of The Federal Reserve; an iconic piece of U.S. history, for sure!
