"Historic Buck Creek School, Perry, Kansas" by Catherine Sherman. The historic Buck Creek School in Perry, Kansas, built around 1878, has found new life as a community centre. Closed in 1952 due to school consolidation, the building was then used as a meeting hall. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, and was listed on the Kansas Historic Registry the same year. In 2010, the school was extensively renovated for use as a rural township hall community centre, Built of limestone blocks on three sides and limestone rubble on the north side, the school building is a 25 by 40 feet (7.6 m × 12.2 m). Two outhouses are situated at the back of the grounds, and the old water pump still stands in the yard.
