Recognized for his flower paintings and group portraits of Parisian artists and writers, Henri Fantin-Latour (1836 –1904) was a French painter and lithographer. Fantin-Latour was a friend of several artists, including Edouard Manet and James Abbott McNeill Whistler, who would later be associated with impressionism but in spite of this his own work remained traditional in style.
