Orangutans might be considered nature's original tree hugger since they live and play in the rainforest canopy of Borneo and an even smaller population survives in Sumatra.Your purchase of this wildlife postcard helps to raise money to conserve their natural habitat. Orangutans have a higher body temperature and depend upon tree top living and swinging on branches to stay comfortable. These great apes are gentle vegetarians, and their rain forests are also essential to the climate of our planet. This photo also illustrates the huge, above-ground roots -sometimes called stilt roots or buttress roots- since there is just soft sand beneath the thin layer of top soil.
