Ah, Northern Californians are an odd bunch aren't they? A hot-tubbing, wine-drinking, artisan cheese-eating eating bunch. We almost qualify as French. What sets us apart, though, is our surf culture. Sure, the water's freezing and you're most likely to get your brains bashed out on Goat Rock, but it's still technically surfing, right? And where there are Northern Californians surfing or talking about surfing or who have even only heard of surfing, there will be this one word peppered through the conversation like, err, pepper.
