The mug is perfect. As ahead/neck cancer survivor, it's a perfect sentiment for the battle and victory. I think it is perfect for anyone who has gone through the battle, and won! The print looks a little like a tattered newsprint print. Not sure if it is supposed to look like that or not. But it does not detract from the use or message on the mug.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
